The AMD EPYC 7542 is a processor designed for server and workstation use, featuring a total of 32 cores. It is a member of the EPYC series, utilizing the Zen 2 (Rome) architecture and Socket SP3. By implementing AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT), the core count effectively doubles, resulting in 64 threads. Additionally, to enhance overall system performance, it is possible to connect up to two EPYC 7542 CPUs in a multi-processor (SMP) configuration.
