Cisco Catalyst 4500E Series switching power supply provides a variety of choices to enable the desired chassis configuration and Power over Ethernet (PoE) scale. To ensure that power is applied only when an appropriate device is connected, Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series Power over Ethernet Line Cards differentiate Cisco Catalyst 4500 pre-standard powered device and an IEEE  from an unpowered network interface card (NIC). Cisco Catalyst 4500 switching power supplies have complete support for the Prestandard PoE. This series of wireless power supplies features several internal power supplies for multiple deployment scenarios. These include large and small deployments in AC or DC environments for data-only configurations. They also include scalability up to 60W per port for PoEP, PoE, and UPOE configurations. To ensure that the switch can operate using power from another circuit, all Catalyst 4500 E-switches offer 1+1 power redundancy.
