The Broadcom MegaRAID 9460-8i is an eight-port internal Tri-Mode storage adapter designed to connect SAS, SATA, and PCIe NVMe storage through a single controller architecture. Based on the Broadcom SAS3508 I/O processor, the adapter supports concurrent operation across the three storage protocols and uses two internal SFF-8643 x4 connectors.

The 9460-8i uses an x8 PCIe 3.1 host interface and includes 2 GB of 2133 MHz DDR4 SDRAM cache. Supported storage interface rates include SAS at 12Gb/s, 6Gb/s, and 3Gb/s per lane, SATA at 6Gb/s and 3Gb/s per lane, and PCIe NVMe at 8 GT/s, 5 GT/s, and 2.5 GT/s per lane.
