The Broadcom SAS 9305-16e is a 16-port external host bus adapter designed for direct-attached storage and external storage environments requiring high-connectivity SAS and SATA interfaces. Built on the SAS 3216 Fusion-MPT 2.5 I/O controller, the adapter provides 12Gb/s SAS connectivity through four external Mini-SAS HD SFF8644 connectors.
An eight-lane PCI Express 3.0 host interface supports high-bandwidth communication between the server and attached storage. The 9305-16e supports SSDs, HDDs, and tape drives and provides cable support for passive copper, active copper, and active optical connections.
